Marichel Lambenicio Tomines, 33 years old.
Born in Magsaysay District, Naguilan, Isabela Philippines. She loves doing arts like drawing, painting and photography. A member of Isabela Federation Isafed since 2014 and a choir member of Iglesia Filipina Independient- HK at Saint John's Cathedral since 2016. She is also expanding her connection with her fellow Isabela artists by joining Isabela Artist Circle (ISAC) in 2020 and of course an active officer of Guhit Kulay for Y2021-22. Marichel is new to the artworld, she begun her artistic journey in 2019 and continues to grow diving into different mediums to further her knowledge.
She was invited to participate in an online project of Kumustahan Art Projects organised by artists based in the Philippines and the UK. The project was themed to map out the help and struggles experienced by migrant workers in this time of pandemic. It was called Sanga-Sanga lead by Alma Quinto, a veteran artist in the Philippines.
She is also part of an anthology project, a collaboration of Guhit Kulay, Migant Writers in HK and photographers of Lensational. The book is expected to be launched this summer of 2022.
She said, "I am happy when I'm doing arts. I help my self to improve more, art save me from sadness and it's now become my passion."
