Lorelito G. Eludo (Dong)
Dong is a mixed media artist but currently working in Hong Kong as a product designer. He is into a realistic and contemporary arts and deeply inspired by nature and all its varied aspects.
At young age, Dong used to join high school competitions that he carried on to his university days. He graduated as an Architect in Drafting at the Surigao del Norte School of Arts and Trades.
Dong also rubbed his brushes during his stint work in cinema playing with acrylic paint. In 1997, he moved to Manila and worked there for a couple of years as a handicraft designer.
But life has its own orbit and whisked Dong here in Hong Kong in 2000 to work as product designer, giving him better package.
If Dong is not in his office he will be making the most of his time creating artworks in his apartment or somewhere sketching outdoor. All his life he has been painting, and he said his artworks are slowly filling up his flat but still he continues to paint. He is very keen on painting oil on canvas and watercolour. He uses rich tone colours to provide his artwork a strong visual appeal. His skills and adeptness to arts has been enhanced over the years that enables him to produce seemingly alive figures. He is gifted with sharp eyes in manipulating proportion and scale.
On March 30 this year some of his painting will be exhibited at the Refuge Baptist Church of HK, a charity art exhibit "In the Name of Love" which is in its 5th year.
